All series III (2.25 petrol) engines utilise a corrugated tin gasket on the inlet manifold only. The exhaust manifold and cylinder head are in metal-to-metal contact.
Fit the joint washers for the inlet manifold with the raised rings toward the cylinder head. There are no joint gaskets on the exhaust manifold. Coat the mating faces of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold with Rocol Copper Anti-seize compound J166 paste (or equivalent copper anti-seize paste). Re-assemble the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold using a new gasket, torque the four fixings to 17 lb.ft, then slacken each fixing 1/4 turn. Offer the manifold assembly to the cylinder head with new inlet manifold joint washer in place (they can be supported on the head studs). Torque the exhaust manifold bolts to 10 lb.ft, then torque them all (inlet and exhaust) to 17 lb.ft. Now torque the inlet to exhaust manifold fixings back to 17 lb.ft. JOB DONE! Fit the down pipe.
